Jim Ellison, a Guardian Angel of Critters

An uplifting story about a lifelong history of animal rescue.

Welcome to the third interview for the PebbleCreek Voices series. By interviewing some of your neighbors, I simply hope to stimulate conversation within this unique community.

Today our guest is an amazing man, Jim Ellison. Jim's best known for his role as president of the PebbleCreek Pet Companions Club. Jim and his wife, Marge, both have huge hearts for animals.

They moved to Eagles Nest from the Chicago area in the early days of PebbleCreek. Before coming to Arizona, they already had a long history of rescuing dogs. After the Pet Companions Club was founded, Marge soon served as the vice president. After Jim retired from an aviation career, he joined the club, fired up the afterburners, and he has never slowed down.

Jim’s story begins as his father joined the Army to serve in World War II. He describes his early life in rural Minnesota and his college years on a Navy scholarship at the University of Minnesota. Our discussion continues with his fighter pilot missions in Viet Nam through his aviation career after the war.

The remainder of the interview is filled with Jim and Marge’s work with various rescue agencies, and it ends helping us understand how the Pet Companions Club became such a valuable PebbleCreek asset. To visit the club’s website, click here.

Jim and Marge have given so much to our community, and I bet you will be touched as much as I was while Jim tells their story.
